This is my Reiki Story, it’s about all the things I have seen and experienced along the Reiki pathway, I can honestly that things that may have been possible and now real to me and my version of this universe is very much expanded.

As far back as I can remember I have always known that there was more to the world than meets the eye. I have also spoken out loud to the universe like it was a person listening to me. Strange experiences when I was a child just compounded my belief in the universe.
I am not religious in any way, I think that simply puts constraints upon us, yet I speak to God all the time. Wayne Dwyer describes the churches in the most appropriate way, “A church or priest has a religious experience on behalf of the people and shares that experience in their own way”.
To me the best way to understand this world is to watch the Matrix and compare yourself to Neo, where he was in a cocoon and plugged into the Matrix, we are beings of light in another world having a dream we are human.

Something I developed in my teen years was the ability to feel the energy between my hands, If you were to imagine holding a ballon in between your hands and pressing inwards, that resistance the balloon gives, I could feel without the balloon.
When I was around 30, I parked my car outside of a Reiki centre in Western Australia run by Brian and Carol Daxter, I went inside to enquire as to what it was all about and was given a Reiki treatment. The energy I felt was incredible and I spent the rest of the day bouncing around a cable water ski park as fast as they would let me go.

I could not get Reiki out of my head, it had given a name to what I was already feeling and I booked in the next available Reiki 1 course. From that day on everything about Reiki was profound in every way, It was making itself known to me in a very strong way, a way that you cannot put down to the mind. Sitting in a chair I was given my first attunement which is the process of opening a person to the Reiki energy, much like dialling a radio into a radio station. I immediately felt a tremendous vibration running through my body starting at the bottom of my feet and travelling up my body. Whatever was going in was very real and I was feeling it.

After everyone had their attunements as I was with a group of around 12 people, we all shared what we had experienced, most were just tingling or warmth or something mild. My mind was mind-blowing. Then we were shown how to give someone a full Reiki treatment and paired off to use it on each other. As soon as my hands got near the person I was to treat, my hands became hot and not just the warmth you feel when you put your hands on, someone, this was definitely a very strong heat.

My whole Reiki journey has always been this way, where some may feel tingling, I was burning up. I am one of those people that need to see something to believe it and I think Reiki was simply showing itself to me in no uncertain terms that there would be little doubt in my mind that this was a very real thing and all I wanted to do was show the world.

In those days I knew little of how it worked, I just trusted and went with it. Now I know far more from spending so many years studying its effects upon us. If you think of Reiki as a Radio wave then it is one of the highest frequencies and the attunement process adjusts the frequency of the person being attuned to match that of Reiki so they can tap into it. We could do this naturally ourselves by becoming enlightened spiritually. By this, I mean growing in our knowledge of the universe and being pure or as pure as possible. Life’s lessons and our actions set the level of our frequency and in order to list a person to the higher level they need to go through a period of cleansing after the Reiki attunement, It lasts 21 days and during that time a person may have diarrhea which is a representation that the person may have been holding on to past issues and does not need to anymore. They may get the flu or things in their life may change. Whatever it is, it will be for the higher good of all, no matter what we think.

As I mentioned earlier, Reiki works to a method and there are some simple rules we can apply to Reiki to understand what it is doing.
The first rule is that Reiki brings to light and by that I mean that Reiki will highlight something. You might be treating someone with Reiki and they feel pain somewhere else in their body, that’s the Reiki working.

The next rule is simply “Reiki brings into alignment” and that can be applied to our lives or our physical bodies. I have physically seen and felt broken bones move in a person on their first Reiki treatment of a broken leg. This could also be applied to someone who might not be on the right path in their life. I have seen relationships break down in the first 21 days of being attuned to Reiki and everyone is happy about it. I have also seen employment lost and people left bewildered as to why. What I have come to learn from teaching hundreds of people is that no matter what the change, it will be for the higher good of all.
Continuing on from my own personal journey, 7 days after learning Reiki one, I am lying in hospital with a leg broken into about 16 pieces. It was a cold winters day and I was out cable water skiing and for the first time ever I had a full-length wetsuit on in addition to a highly padded barefoot water skiing wetsuit. This is something I never had access to previously yet in the day it was all handed over to me. Still buzzing from the Reiki attunement the week before I attempted to do a summersault around one of the corners of the cable ski park and it did not go as planned.

The front of the ski dug into the water and immediately twisted with my leg in place. The resulting break was called a spiral fracture. As I flew through the air, time stood still. I remember thinking to myself, My ski just touched my knee, then the next thought was “I think I have broken my leg”, I then had time to lift my legs as high up as I could get them and prepared myself to land in the water and let my bottom and back absorb as much of the impact as possible. I hit the water perfectly and the barefoot suit I was wearing had inbuilt buoyancy so I landed in the perfect position floating on my back in freezing water.

One look at my leg was enough for me but as the water was so cold I felt no pain and was soon in an ambulance on the way to the hospital for an operation to put it all back together. It was during this operation where I opened my eyes and was looking directly at what can only be described as an 8-foot tall golden being of light. There were 2 more, one on each side of the bed, I wasn’t in the hospital, I was somewhere else and I looked at this being at the top of my bed and said “You’re for real aren’t you” He or she nodded in acknowledgement to me and with that I was starting to sit up in the hospital bed. It was explained to me later that my heart had stopped briefly during the operation due to one of the anaesthetics they had administered to me.

If I share that with a doctor or nurse I am given the usual hallucinations story that people have while under. But 3 days later my Mum comes to visit me with a present, a book called Hands of Light by Barbara Anne Brenan, I had no idea why my Mum would bring me such a book but there it was and as I opened the pages I saw this image.

From that moment my life was changed forever and events like this become normal for me. I lost my job as I was out of action for a long time and ended up relocating to a small coastal town in Western Australia called Mandurah.
As soon as I was mobile enough I enrolled with a Reiki Master to receive and learn the second degree of Reiki, the one where you get given symbols.
Before we go any further here you need to understand the sacredness of the Reiki symbols and how this is being taken away by those that think the Reiki symbols are for everyone. They are for everyone but they are sacred and when a person reaches the point in their life when they feel ready for the second degree of Reiki, they are attuned to those symbols and the symbols are presented to them. All these do-gooders who think displaying them all over the internet for everyone to share have missed the point completely, they are sacred, not secret and by doing what they do they have now taken away that special sacred moment when a person is presented with them.

Being presented with the symbols is a very profound part of their life, it’s the universe saying you have come a long way and you are ready for a special gift.
If you one of those that think they should be displayed all over the internet then you do not understand why we keep them to ourselves and you have done a great injustice to the people that are ready to receive the second-degree attunement. Usually an ego thing, Reiki is for everybody etc.
I went to stay with my parents as they lived close by the new Reiki Master I was to meet the next day. When I went to bed that night a hand was placed on my right shoulder. I could feel the fingers, the weight, everything, just as though someone really had their hand on me but no one was there.
For the next 2 days, I received the Reiki two attunement, the symbols and the lesson on how to use them and I felt nearly complete. I got what I needed and I think that was the higher level of energy that comes with the second degree of Reiki. But what I really got was an expanded sight, every living thing that I looked at, whether it be a leaf, insect or person had a band of golden glowing light around them. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and the effects stayed with me for a couple of weeks.

From the very beginning of my Reiki journey everything has been profound, the beings of light, the hands, seeing auras, these are things that when they happen to you, you know they are real. As a person who teaches Reiki, you cannot teach what you have not seen especially when it comes to anything spiritual in nature. Too many people come from the ego and give you advice or lessons but they have never seen or experienced themselves. Always be careful who you listen to.
So from there, it was a journey to become a Reiki Master and start spreading this most amazing thing to others and do some good for the world. That was over 20 years ago now and during that time I have seen things or beings that do not come from this world and have had students come to me to share an experience of hand being placed on them.

Reiki is the most incredible thing I have ever had come into my life and I use it daily still. It does not need to be altered or added to by people who want to make it their own brand of Reiki. I have looked into them all and find there is generally a person within that type of Reiki running a business.
That’s not how it works, it is very spiritually guided, if your heart says go learn Reiki, then follow it. If you came to me to learn all you could over a coffee yet had your lessons with another, I would not feel any negative feelings at all, that is the person to teach you. If we put a fee on Reiki lessons, the fee is actually there to place a hold on you till your ready for the Reiki. I have had many people buy a scratchy and win the amount of a Reiki course.
It is completely spiritually guided and sacred and that’s perfect.
